What's the purpose of the two different rear wheel wells on these cars ?
Actually, the driver's side wheel well is elongated rearward and volume wise is the larger of the two. It is clear to anyone who has seen the 71', early 72' fuel tank vapor separator/expansion tank mounted in the rear of the driver's side wheel well why it is shaped the way it is. After the vapor separator was redesigned and relocated forward of the fuel tank mid year 72', made no sense to retool, as mentioned.
No - I mean left to right. 73-74 has two entirely different shaped wheel wells (was assuming it was a 71-74 thing). Not sure what the purpose is but I'm probably missing the obvious.
Doesn't it have to do with the emmesions? I think there is some type of canister on the right wheel well.
