I was wondering if anyone knows if the stock Charger R/ T with the louvers is the same hood used on the air grabber option. It looks to me that the air grabber opening is smaller. I would like to convert my 71 R/T to an air grabber and want to know if I need to swap out the whole hood or will mine work? Thanks for any information.

I am pretty certain it is......but no Charger ever had an air grabber option.

The R/T Hood is different. Yes they did in 71-72 it's called the N96 code try the 71 Superbee registry they also have a 71 R/T registry there too.

R/T hood is different than the N96 hood which is based on the Rallye hood.
Rusty is correct in that the Dodges had a Ramcharger hood. Same difference.

Yeah, like Mark said and I before him. NO Dodge ever came with an Air Grabber. Air Grabber was a Plymouth option. Ram Charger is what Dodge came with.

the RT louvers and bee hood insert interchange . the ramcharger (dodge) does not fit in those hoods. they are their own hood. i would imagine you can MAKE it work with some creative fab work.

Or find a Rallye hood and convert it. Same can be done with a Satellite hood for an Air Grabber.

This is out of the Dodge service manual. So I guess they did call it an "Air Grabber". When I do put the carb air system on my Dodge it will defiantly get the air grabber stickers just because they are so much cooler. Thank you to the people who understood what I meant and aren't looking to find a fault in how people word things.
