Anyone know what goes in this hole in the firewall, behind the brake booster sorta?

Give me a bit I'll go out and look to see if there's anything there on any of mine . I think it's just a body plug that goes there

Hood release?

Cool. No, my hood release goes through a lower hole. Everything is all put back in after my underhood resto, all holes filled except this mystery hole, which was open when i started it!!! Haha.
Thanks. A pic would be cool! Rubber or plastic plug?

If you do not have the fresh air hood, this is plugged with a plastic cap. The vacuum hoses run thru this hole for the fresh air hood scoop. Sorry for the crappy picture, but my wife's laptop does not have correct programs to fix it.

That hole is not for the vacuum lines, they run under the dash and exit under the heater box on the passenger side. ill look at mine tonight and report back. That hole is for a wiring loom for either cruise control or hidden headlamps. I thought it may have been the hood release but I also think that is down lower.

Mine is a 73 but I have the heater control cable and a vacuum line in there. I can take a pic later if you like.

Just checked my 71. It is for the cruise control loom

That hole was used for multiple things depending on year. if it has a tac. there was a single wire that used that hole, if not it is just plugged with a rubber grommet.
