71 Plymouth Satellite Side Marker Questions

Bought a 71 Satellite basket case. Is there a difference between the front and rear side marker bezels? If so how do you tell the difference?

Also does anyone have a source for the bezel mounting nuts?

I believe they are the same. Just put the small peg that's on one end through the notch in the sheet metal and into the hole in the plastic. Seems I saw those fasteners someplace, but can't find them (on internet) now.

Just be aware when looking, 4dr sidemarkers look very similar but are different than 2dr (slightly different curve and different placement of the locating pin)

I have several of the nuts left from a parts car. The problem is that they didn't screw all the way on a couple of the studs and I was going to put a rubber washer or something under them. I surely didn't want to break them off. That was several years ago. Glad you reminded me. They seem to hold well on just three nuts.

The nuts show seem to be correct, NO diff between the 2 door and 4 door nuts. There IS a diff between the sidelights curve. In a pinch 2 doors will work on 4 door, front looks better but rear is not an exact fit at all.

So I attempted to use those nuts off ebay and they don't screw down all the way and hold tightly. Anyone have another source or some originals?

Anyone have some I can have? Have a source for some?

I just rethreaded mine to 1/4 and put washer and a regular 1/4 nut. Works better.

Does anyone know if the numbers printed on the back of the side markers are different for the 4 door and 2 door versions? I have a couple of sets of 1971 side markers, but now I don't know if they are from 2 door cars, 4 door cars, or both. Any help on distinguishing the difference after they have been removed from the car would be appreciated.

YES, the 4 door side markers lights are different as the cure on the fenders and quarter panel is different. I have a2 door and a 4 door (RK41). You can get by using the 2 door version in the rear quarter panels, but not th front fenders. Very few 4 door NOS ones are around, just continue to look on E Bay etc. if you need some.

The 4 door housing will also say 4-door on them. This holds true for Dodges too.
