Yep ! Bases, shaft, mechanism and handles all generic and a lot of other makes use the exact pieces. Only thing specific to a car was the bumper attaching piece.

I don't think they were generic. I have a pile of them from mostly 70 to 72 cars there are several different sizes and shapes. Some were longer than others.

On mine the Base was a dark grey and the Hook was the only piece that was green. The closest paint "off the shelf" was Rustoleum Hunter green. Very close match to original. I mean Very close. The John Deere green is too bright.

You're right. I knew there was green somewhere. I went with "John Deere" green.
