71 RR was originally 340, bought car with 440. The car has a 5/16 fuel line with no return, I am hooking back up vap unit in driver wheel well. The question is do I need to go to a 3/8 fuel line with a 1/4 return for the 440 or will the 5/16 fuel line work with no vaporlock issues with just the vap canister and do I need the non-vented gas cap for the vap canister to work well, or does anyone have the best setup for this to avoid vapor-lock.
Thanks
Tim

The 5/16 line and sender should work fine on the street if your 440 is not to wild. The stock 71 non vented cap will work correctly with the evap canister provided you have the correct 3 nipple breather on the valve cover and the line from the evap canister that's on the right inner fender is connected to it.

Nice to know there is another 71 Road Runner in town!

All I need is the triple nipple breather cap, do you know of any that are for sale that they don't want insane money, I was thinking of taking a regular cap and making one?

I don't have one myself but plan on getting one at Carlisle next month. I could get a couple. $25-$40 is my target price. Lots of competition there for little parts.

image.jpgLove the 71's. The "triple-nipple"equipment sounds really appealing. Gotta get one.

I see that you are in SC, let me know I really need one and since you are close we can work together on shipping if you can pick up two that would help me out
Thanks
Tim
