I have a 1972 dodge charger and was trying to figure out if it was a rare model. WH - 2 door hardtop -340ci 240hp (1972-73) both with 4-bbl V8 - 1972 - ST. Louis. Thanks for any help

I wouldn't say rare but if it is a true rallye it would be ...lets say more sought after. A charger rallye had different doors(with special indentations),rallye tail lights and a bulge hood they looked totally different than a regular charger. Engine packages varied as per ordered.

Post some pictures of the car if you can and do you have the fender tag or build sheet with out those it's almost impossible to say what it is ,the cars are as rare as a 3rd gen gets in 72 the 340 is a popular motor (most people want big blocks) I have a 72 rallye 340 car send me a p.m. and we can talk I'll try and help you out

Here you go bronze I figured I'd stick your pic up for you (these guys love pictures) vkeGCX.jpg

Yep not so much rare as just desirable. What would make it rare is a special package like engine , 4 speed, rear end and even interior options. But it is a very nice and desirable car.

340s ( rallyes by default ) and 440s rallyes are not really common to see, so somehow desireable.
