72 Lynch Road Rallye 340

I had stated in my welcome to the group message I was looking for another project...my wife thinks it's a mid life crisis, I think I'm bored and deserve it. Hahaha

I found a1972 Charger in South Carolina. Broadcast sheet and all. Very clean with some unfortunate paint damage to the hood.

Reading different posts on this sight confirmed it's actually a Rallye born with a 340, broadcast sheet has 57 on it. Original paint, seats, tinted windows. Couple of bumps and bruises.

It needs a lot of cosmetic help, cleaning and repainting grills and exterior plastics, buffing etc etc...I intend to keep this thread moving with before and afters. Car **** I guess...

Numbers DO NOT match eng (69 340) or tranny (73 727). I'm thinking they're upgrades as far as that goes. Runs a lot better with a Holley on it than it did with the TQ. Tires on their way soon because the ones on it just aren't round anymore. Making progress.

If anyone knows anything about the car I'd love to hear about it! Titled in TN, I bought it in SC, I know it had a tranny rebuild in FL in 1988. That's about it. I'm attaching some picks. Check out the sanding job someone did on that hood...terrible

Thank you! Triple black suits it. Appears all the original decals survived.

Nice option package with the X9 and hideaways. Easy to spray that hood black too, matching gloss will be the problem. Probably spray the tops of the fenders as well.

Thanks! It is well optioned. AC, PB, PS and a full top and tinted glass (all the windows still match too)...I appreciate the tips. I'm sure when I get into the paint stuff I'll be on here looking for more details!
