I have a 65 Satellite with a 727 trans. I'm not sure what year but the natural safety switch and back up light switch has 2 pins. I know the nsw wire is brown on a 65(1 pin) but I'm not sure about the wiring colors for a 2 pin wiring harness. Can anyone help and does anyone have the wiring harness(2 wire) that plugs into my transmission. I need 1. If you have 1, please PM me. Thanks.

I believe your car should have a 1 wire NSS. The backup light switch is on the column or on the shifter mech in the console (if equipped) The later cars used a 3-wire unit that was both NSS and Backup switch.

Thanks for trying to help me. I know a 65 727 has a 1 pin switch. I have a 2 pin switch on mine. I do not know what year trans I have but it has a 2 pin switch. I need a wiring harness that plugs in my switch and what colors these wires are and where they go. I know the NNS wire goes to the starter relay but I don't know where the other wire(the back up wire) goes. Any help would really be appreciated.

Yes I mean neutral. Sorry but I never was good in spelling but I sure love Mopars. I'm looking for some way to use the 2 pin switch on my 727 because I do not have a working neutral safety switch on my car(a dangerous situation) and I do not have working back up lights(although I have a new wiring harness from the driver's kick pad on back). Any help would be appreciated.

I've never seen a 2 wire NSS switch - is it possible you have a 3 terminal switch but one is broken off?

1 terminal (early cars - neutral safety only)

Later 3 terminal (neutral and backup) The center pin provides the ground for the relay (trans in park or neutral) and the outside terminals complete the back up ligt circuit (trans in reverse)

Could I use a 3 pin switch? I just want a working NSS and back up lights would be nice too. Thanks for your time.

You can use the 3 pin switch IF you have a later trans in the car, I don't think it will work if it is an early trans. Question - is your trans a cable shift?
