welcome to FBBO, maybe you could post up your questions in the Engine Trans & Driveline or the general discussion forums, you'll get far more responses, this forum is for introductions & welcoming new members, Welcome Wagon's not really intended for diagnosing problems, it's to get to know a few people here & we're a helpful bunch "usually"...

Thanks, im new to this not sure where to post question , but how do i adjust the kick down , this is my first hot rod / cool car, i have been doing a little my self mostly cosmetic, thanks again for any and all help

It's been awhile but I believe you loosen a set nut and then tighten the adjuster with a inch pound torque wrench to a certain torque. If you check out a Motor manual or other manual on 727 transmissions it should give you step by step instructions on adjusting bands. Hope this helps.

adjustment is located right behind bell on drivers side above the linkage
loosen the 3/4 nut with a open end or box wrench

tighten the bolt to 72 inch pounds ( or snug) back off 2.5 turns while holding the bolt tighten the lock nut

What these guys said, adjust the front (kickdown) band.
If it still has problems you may need to drop the transmission pan and remove the valve body to inspect the band.
I have read (but not seen) that on some of the steel wrap bands, the welds near the anchor can break loose?

Haven't spent much time online or on FBBO sorry ofr thr quick replies

what does he flied look like is it red? des it smell burnt?
does the transmission shift solidly into drive? reverse?
fell free to send me a PM if you need any further help I will give you my number and talk you through the adjustment
