73 2 speed wiper motor color

What is the correct color for a 73 2 speed wiper motor? Most I have found are plain black. Mine has a red end. Is that correct for 73? Or all black?

I have seen them just black at least in passenger vehicles. I think trucks could be not painted, just metal exposed

I am 70 years old and was looking at new cars during this time. I never have seen a red one. Only black. Replacements were some times just metal finish.
