Hey Guys

I recently picked up my first B-body and am going to restore it. Not my first car but it is my first dodge.

I was looking for some rear fenders here http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/

I could not find any listed for a 1973 coronet. Are there any other type of fenders that would fit. I want to try to keep it as original as possible.

Thanks
Phantom

Welcome Phantom118. Glad to see another 70's Coronet here. I have a 72 that i'm working on myself. Classic does carry carpet and I think the headliner too for our cars but nothing as far as body panels unfortunatly. I was kind of looking at rear patch panels for 71-74 Satellite/Roadrunner as an alternative but still need to measure things up yet. I was also thinking I might be able to use one for a 70-74 Cuda which has no lower body line like the Coronets. How bad are yours? I would love to see some pics!

Welcome, fellow Phantom!
I've got a '71 Coronet, same body, and I'm also stuck with rotten rear quarters. I've been looking at alternatives to waiting for someone to come out with specific 4-door sedan quarter panels for our cars. I think AMD(possibly) had dimensions for their patch panels for Chargers. They have a similar crease from the wheelwell to the bumper, but the length of the piece does not match the length of the "same" piece I'd need for the Coronet. I suppose it'd be possible to use one of those and lengthen it, but I'm no welder so I can't say for sure.
This is pure conjecture, but I think any lower quarter from the "slightly" revised '75-'78 B-body four doors could work- they have the round wheelwell like '71-'74 Coronets do, and not the squared off type like the Plymouths. The only thing that worries me is the "corrugated" piece behind the bumper- it looks like it goes further forward into the fender than where our bumpers would just mount up, so a little bit of fabrication may be necessary there, as well. Unfortunately our cars aren't as collectible as Chargers are, so any in scrapyards are usually stripped of anything that can be swapped to a Charger and then written off as "useless". I've been on the hunt for a clean '71-'73 body with good quarters for a couple of years now.
If I can find something that is compatible I will let you know.
Good luck, and yes, please post pictures!

I will also let you know if I can locate anything replacements that will work well. It is likely the first thing I will address with the car so I shall keep you guys posted.

I will also upload some pictures later tonight as well.

So there's what I got to work with so far. Interior needs to be redone but overall not a bad car..

It will likely take me at least 2 years to get this car near to where I want it, but, have to start somewhere.

I want to keep it that color but the woman wants it to go pepsi can blue..

thoughts?

Looks like a good solid car to work with for sure. As for the color, either would be nice and pretty much depends on how much money, time, and work you want to invest. Staying with the brown would be the easiest by not having to paint the jambs, trunk and under hood areas. Blue would look good too, though you would have a lot more work painting plus changing your interior color too. You can always tell her that staying with the brown will save money. Women like that ;)
