Can anyone tell me the best place to learn about the 73 Charger SEs?
I'm looking at one (needs resto). M code (400 cu in) auto with AC.
It has a tow hitch, not sure if its factory stock or not.

Rear looks to be a 9.25? is this normal on a tow package car?

You might check with the guys on the 1971-1974 Dodge Charger site. a lot of knowledgable guys there.

My 74 didnt have any kind of tow package but has the 9.25 rear too... with the ISO spring/shock mounts. I do not beleive 73 and 74 came with any other rear but the 9.25 but may be mistaken.

73's came with 8 1/4's, 8 3/4's or 9 1/4's.. the 9 1/4's were a late year addition as they were gearing up to replace the 8 3/4 for the 74 model run.

you have a question regarding a 3rd gen.. ask me.. i have owned a shitload of them and have tore them apart and put them back together many times :D

If the fender tag is there, look for A34 light duty or A35 heavy duty tow package. 2.71 gearing was standard on the 400 and 3.23 was an option.

Cool, I knew the 8.25 was a possibility but never seen one under a 73 or 74 Charger. And as for an 8.75 I knew they were available under a 71 & 72, I didnt know they may be under a 73 so this will widen my search for one a little thank you!

In 73 and 74 the 8.25,8,75 and the 9.25 was available. My one owner small block SE has an 8.25. I'm also just starting on a 72 big block SE that has a 8.25. Your better off paying a little more and getting a nice car that don't need much. In parts and paint it cost me over 10 grand to do my own garage kept rust free 73. If I caqn be of any help to you just message me.

I think its a 8.25 now that I look close. It an M code (400 2brl.) In a garage for 15 year. Can't get the hood up, stuck closed.

Tripple black 400 with a/c.

I'll take it!

I see the 1995 NJ inspection sticker. Where are you located? Im in Morris County.

Anyway, nice car. It looks like a nice time capsule.

Turns out the lady now has second thoughts on selling it. "someone" told her its worth $20,000 ! ! ! oh well, I guess it will stay another 15 yrs. at that price !

You should tell her "thats a felony" because the only way its worth $20,000 is if its filled with drugs (or you spend $30,000 on it).

Tell her to sell it to him.

I know that 3 other people looked at the car and didn't even make an offer.....

She told me that it had a "hemi" engine in it the first time I talked to her. So I'm sure that's still what she's telling people.
