I had my thermoquad apart on the weekend, and managed to mess up the spring that adjusts the closing tension on the secondary air valve. Anyone know where to find one? An old "parts" thermoquad might be the only answer, but thought I would ask...

They get corroded, especially if the carb has sat unused for a long period of time. I have had one just fall apart when I disassembled the carb.

There is a guy on Moparts who works on them and does alot of work on them so he may be able to help. I forgot his handle right now but just go over there on Moparts and ask. Ron

You let it "Unwind?" You can not wind it back up?
And so the issue is what now? I'm missing what the issue is.
PM me for one.

As I remember from the OLD! DC manuals, circa late 70's, your air valve adjustment should be: back off the spring until it opens the door to vertical then slowly wind it back until it just closes. From there give it two turns and tighten then little lock screw. See how it affects your secondary tip in and either back off a little if they are late or tighten a little if it bogs. I used to have the factory air valve tool but gave it to one of my Mopar brethren. You most likely could make one out of a piece of tubing that fits that spot, fileing two external notches 180* apart from each other to mate to the notches in the adjuster. You put a small standard screwdriver through the center to get a the screw in the middle. I wish I had kept that manual as there was way more info in it than the ones that replaced it. After the mid 80's or so, the books sucked as they didn't progress with new info and just kept repeating themselves.
