are the 74 sending units the same or will they work from 71-73 chargers?

Not sure about 71 but 72, 3 & 4 tank sending units are the same.
The top of the 74 tank is the major difference betreen the tanks themselves. 74 has a big hump with one port to the charcoal canister) where as 72 & 3 have 4 ports into a fuel/vapor separater then a single port to the charcoal canister.
