Getting ready to setup a 742 case and wanted some way to hold it. In my scrap metal pile was a old fold up wicker top table. The curved shape and 1/4 in metal was great. I left the pivot in place and just cut the 5 - 3/8 in rods that hold the two sides together. Cut off the bottom legs and it fits in the vice or on the table. I have since drilled 4 hole top and bottom to hold one of my dial indicators.I just love free tools

I dig ingenuity. I once used an old bolt a drilled out sparkplug to make a TDC plunger. When I brought it to TDC the bolt would rise and I watch it stop. Rounded the bolt end so that it looked like a push rod tip. But it worked great. Props to you
