I’m an old metal guy, and lots of great stuff came out in that decade. Iron Maiden, King Diamond, and many others.
But it also was the last decade of great live concerts. In that decade I was fortunate to see Van Halen twice, ZZ Top, The Stones, Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Ted Nugent and more then forty others. It’s sad, I think, that this and future generations will never get a chance to experience a bunch of talented musicians, with no safety net, actually play instruments to songs that they wrote.
In this current decade I was fortunate enough to take my daughter to see Iron Maiden and Metallica, and she saw Judas Priest without me, but those sort of large spectacle concerts are becoming a thing of the past.
It’s too bad.
