9 1/4 Ratios

Good day. I've searched and searched and only find muddy answers.

I do 4wd stuff and 3.54 is the lowest numeric ratio available.

The question... did Mopar cars have other ratios? There's a 68 Coronet Auto Rt for sale w a 9 1/4. Says is a 3.23.

I would've thought it to be an 8 3/4 but it is a 60. Did it come w a 60 as an auto and was 3.23 a real gear back then?

some 4x4 trucks with the 9 1/4 had 3.91 and 4.10

A Dana 60 is a 9 3/4. 3.54 was lowest numerical ratio offered.

The ONLY place to get a gear higher than a 3.54 for a dana 60 (lower, numerically) is from Dr Diff. He had 3.23s for a dana 60 specially made.
And a 9 1/4 and a dana 60 are entirely different rearends.

@ Randall Miller, what rear do you actually have, and which direction are you trying to go?
IF you have a Mopar 9 1/4, summit has around 60 different gearsets for it, from 3.21 to 4.88 (at least) and lots in-between, including reverse rotations for front axles.

And then there's the Dana 53 9 1/4 with a 3.31... again a different animal.

... and a Dana 61, that looks just like a 60.... with 3.08 (or is it 3.07?).

Dakotas could have 3.92. Standard on R/T.

I've heard of special a order R/T with 3.19!

Chrysler only called them nine and three quarters. But I hear what you're saying.
