I have a dana 60 9 3/4 c3-4155 dated 11-22-8c1, 602957 5. spool #25124x. I have the rearend apart. The gears are 4/88, but I want to go back to 4/10 gears. The spool i.d. tells me the gears were 4/10 originally and everything I have read, this spool is 4/10 and down. However, the current ring and pinion is 4/88. please help i am confused. Can I go back to 410's with this spool?

My confusion is that the spool serial # match the Mopar tech manual for a power lock 410 gear ratio. The 488's that I have already have a spacer on the ring gear.

Thank you for your response.

When you say 'spool' that tells me you have a racing spool and not a stock carrier. Pics? If you have the rear end apart, you can take a rough measurement with the bearing and ring gear still on to make sure what the 'deck height' of the carrier is and that will tell you for sure what gears the carrier is made for but it does sound like you have one that will take the 4.10 gears if it has a spacer now. Also, the welcome wagon is for introducing yourself and tech questions will get a better response if they are in the tech question section. Welcome aboard!

Thank you
