Fellas, I am selling my little truck here is my craigllist ad below:
I have it up for $3699 but am willing to negotiate with my FBBO buddies. Also interested in trades for fuel sipping cars, I am really looking for a TDI or something along the sorts.
Truck is located in San Antonio, Texas
This is an awesome little truck!! 2.4 Liter 5-Speed XE. My uncle bought the truck new in '95 so I am the 2nd registered owner, and both of us have kept up with all the maintenance. The top end was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. The thermostat stuck and popped the radiator causing the head to warp. So it has a freshly milled head with all the valves and springs reworked and cleaned nicely. (This work was done at one of the better shops in town) It also got a new timing chain tensioner along with all the components that go with it. It got a new oil pump as well, the other wouldn't keep a prime after the head warped. The bottom end was inspected while the head was off. It looked really good. The oil ports were inspected and there was NO sludge to be found, how many 20 year old car can say that!! AND it doesn't leak oil!! The last transmission had a leak and the gears stripped out SO you guessed it, it has a "new" used transmission with about 4000 miles on it. The rear brakes have been adjusted and the front disks have new pads and rotors. The tranny I believe only has about 60k original miles. It was very clean when I put it in. Also, the tires are newish. They maybe have 8000 miles on them and they are good quality tires. The top end Duralast Gold battery I bought last fall so it should be good for awhile. It also has a super cool single racing stripe to get the ladies attention. Also, I installed an aftermarket radio and Xplode speakers. I also put down a spray on bedliner on the very bottom of the bed.
The 1 and only reason I am selling this truck is I drive a lot for work and this truck, while very economical isn't quite enough for me. It does get 23 mpg driving around town and under 70mph on the freeway. Anything over 70 it drops down to 19 mpg. I really do hate to part with this truck but I need something that gets 35+ mpg.
Now the bad news. The dash is cracked but other then that the interior is in decent shape. The truck could use some shocks eventually. The brake lights occasionally stay on after you get out of the car because of the pedal sensor, I am pretty positive I have fixed the issue as it has not done it in several weeks. Also I also had to fix the front end after some jackass ran a stop sign. The driver side front fender was replaced and the body needed a little fixing but ZERO frame damage was done. The paint is original minus the hood, fender and racing stripe. I just rattle canned it, as if you are following, is a 20 year old truck that I use strictly a for commuting. Other then that this is a very sound truck. It looks good for its age but does have some typical cosmetic issues that the Texas and Arizona (where this truck was purchased) sun do to a car.
Feel free to ask me any questions about this vehicle. I do have the BLUE title in hand, this is not a salvage title.
