A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

I personally don't get it when people ask what color to paint their car. There are only 2 options: If you want it stock, paint it stock. If you don't? Paint it whateverthehellyoulike. :)

Black would be my choice. Especially with a bench seat. Never liked white interiors. To hard to keep clean.
My Barracuda is a driver, granted only 1-2000 miles a year, but I rarely have to clean the seats and when I do it's just a quick spray and wipe.

Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind that you want white. Go for it. It’s your car, do what makes you happy.

I've been contemplating a disc conversion on my 70 Charger but don't want to ditch my original 14" wheels...if you're going with 15s anyway, I'd do it.

Interior...just do the seats in white. Leave everything else black.

So when you are having a tough time making a decision for yourself, no matter what it is, you NEVER ask anyone else (spouse, friends, family etc.) for their advice?

Go with the white, it will look great next to the purple. The brakes are a no brainer.

Brake swap, yes. White interior is the only way to go with FC7.

Not about color. Color is an entirely subjective topic. Your generalization to ALL decisions isn't really valid. :)

If you have been following along I`m working on a `70 road runner ( thread here- `70 road runner, FC7, 383, 727 It`s waited long enough, finally time to get it done. ) and I have a couple decisions to make. I am doing a 90% stock resto on it with a couple add ons like an air grabber hood and Dust Trail stripes along with a few Day Two mods such as period aftermarket wheels, headers/exhaust etc. First is the easier one - car came four wheel manual drums but thinking of putting on front discs as I do drive my cars, many times a bit hard and fast so it would be more for safety. Second is the hard one I am agonizing over a bit - it came M2X9 mediium grade black bench seat but I am thinking of changing it over to white as that just makes the FC7 pop so much better than black interior and is my favorite color combo on a Mopar. Both are easily changed back (interior is more work/cost though) if myself or the next owner (after I`m dead) wanted to but the interior color change to me is a major mod from the fender tag (I don`t have a broadcast sheet). I know the "it`s your car, your choice" response but I`d rather here more form the stock type/resto guys on this - thoughts/opinions?
Do what you want with the car unless you think 100% stock restoration makes it worth a bunch more. I worked at a dealership in 1976 to 1982 and I was the guy who put on running boards installed stereos, and all kinds of aftermarket stuff on new cars. Heck a couple times I changed the interiors from one new car to another just because a customer wanted a different color just like you do now. So much for broadcast sheets and numbers matching. I hear stories from former assembly plant workers how before computers they would give beer to guys on the line to get options installed on their news car coming down the line.

Changing the brakes to upgrade for discs is a no-brainer - just do it. If you have the ability to store the OE parts, then do that also. Changing the exterior paint colour is great - FC7 really suits that '70 Road Runner body..... worked well on my GTX that was originally FC7. I do prefer the black interior - mainly because it looks cleaner for longer....so many white interiors get dirty or show damage to seams and material faster than black.....and you cannot easily repair or hide marks on a white seat.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Here's a picture of my FC7 effort ....

Nothing done to this car that was not easily undone....... no welded in chassis connectors or anything else damaging.
