I bought a set of PRW rollers with shafts, shims etc. from a vendor on Amazon that was listed as brand new. The vendor sent me an open box, the pushrod checker was obviously used and everything in the box was disturbed, plastic tray was all broken up. It looks like to me that someone mocked it up on their engine, didn't like what they saw, slapped it back in the tray and returned it.
So I immediately filed for a return, the vendor contacted me right away asking what I wanted to do. I said I wanted a new unopened box like I was supposed to get. Vendor says they have to do some internal processes and they will get back to me. A few days later I get an email from Amazon stating that the vendor was going to ship a replacement with no return necessary. Then the vendor sends me an email saying that they are sending me a replacement and they want the first one returned to them.
Wait it gets better..
The replacement set comes, and guess what? It's an open box too! This one is in much better shape though, just the pushrod checker was used. Everything else in the box looked untouched. I contacted the vendor, sent the appropriate pictures and filed a claim with Amazon. Amazon accepted my claim and issued a refund to me. I called Amazon to ask what I should do with both sets of rockers now. The Amazon rep said that it was up to me, what I wanted to do with them.
My question to you all- keep them both or return them?
The vendor definitely wants the $800 worth of parts back. Part of me doesn't want to return them because I don't want some other guy like me having to deal with this kind of nonsense as I am convinced that the vendor will simple relist them as new. Your thoughts please..

karma is a bitch in both directions.....do what your gut tells you. I couldn't keep them, but I'd post about the seller....EVERYWHERE.

If they've issued a return postage label I would return them. That's a lot of $$ to just keep. You got your money back and now have a lesson learned about this vendor. Send the parts back maybe with a letter to reprimand to the vendor.

I would return them, but only if they will send you a prepaid shipping label. It's enough of a pain in the *** to repack and ship, you shouldn't have to pay for any of the shipping. I hate buying something that's supposed to be new and finding out what you get has been opened and used. If they have to pay for return shipping enough times, maybe they will stop sending out opened/used parts.

I think I'm gonna do ya one better- I'm going to make them schedule the driver to come pick them up too.
