Reminds me of the plastic Smokey the Bear cigarette snuffer my parents had balanced on the rear view mirror of the '62 413 CID Chrysler New Yorker station wagon. Had not thought of it for decades. It was missing its hat, and had a magnet on the bottom. I had no idea what it was for back then, thought it was a toy. Found foto on internet:
