For 68 charger, 440, with A12 hood. Looking for ideas/pictures? For air cleaners under this hood?

Oops my my bad, yes A12 hood IMG_6999.jpeg

Try
then look under 'Six Pack Hood for a 68 Charger' in the search deal
they have 2 listed,
one pin on $569,
one bolt on style $689

I bought some fiberglass stuff from them a long time ago,
basically a full fiberglass 68 RR body
& all the associated pieces, front end, hood, decklid, doors
for a Blown T/S car I built, in the later 80's early 90's (?)
their quality was very good, 'not sure today'
but they are still in business after some 35+ years ago,
still going strong more stuff then ever
so they must be doing something right

can't vouch for the quality now, been a long time

I appreciate the info, but im not looking for the hood, im looking for air cleaners that fit inder that hood

Yet you showed 'a fiberglass lift off hood', as an example above

for air-cleaners & their assoc. bases for 6-pak or 6bbl
not sure the N96 Super Bee's ones would fit 100% or what style you refer too
depends on the hood & clearances, probably different on a 68 Charger
since they never had one

if you have a 2 speed fan motor instead of the 3 speed motor
that runs closer to the firewall
2 speed motor, will have to do some clearance on the rear of the base too
a lil' 1/2 moon shape notch no big deal, to clear the base of the air cleaner
& fan motor that goes pointed out into the engine bay

do you want it to seal under a specific style hood, like an A12 six pack ?

1970 was the only year of Gen 2 Charger
had a 6-Pack
& they never/ever had any fresh air hood scoops

but that had a six pack installed on it,
maybe need to narrow the criteria/search

maybe a 71 Charger fresh-air cleaner, that also may work
won't be correct for the car, not sure what your after

Mancini Racing has some nice restoration type, fresh air & non fresh air
oval air-cleaners, bases & tops, starts at like $489+, goes up from there
probably more now, , 6bbl/six pack air-cleaners & bases
without the elements & they are like $125+,
depending on what style & thickness/tall you want
I use a K&N 3", love it

So does Year One, have resto styles,
but you will pay out the wazoo for shipping
not sure they have the style you're looking for

if the A12 style like a 69.5 will work, flat square-ish design,
to mate up-to/seal an open six-pack fiberglass hood,
like on the 69.5 RR or Super Bee had
you'll need do some measuring,
make sure it will even work, may not have room, maybe to tall
they are about an 1" higher towards the hood, than other styles

It would help if you tell us if you do have a Sixpack setup, or are you looking for a 4bbl suggestion?
If 4bbl, tell us what intake you are using.

Custom? chrome?, for a 4 bbl with Edelbrock aluminum intake

The six bbl scoop is wide enough that you can use practically any aftermarket aircleaner. If you are running a fairly tall intake ( Eddie intakes for a 440 vary by about three inches, between an old ch4b and a super victor, maybe more) you might need a drop base style.
I honestly don't know what sort of factory air cleaner would work best (concerned about diameter)
A drop base will give up a tiny bit of airflow compared to a flat base. I use the drop base on my car (no hood at all) simply cause it's easier to see over.

You should probably be able to use mostly any style air cleaner. My suggestion would be

Mopar unsilenced air cleaner.

Kinda liking the chrome unit
Mine is a Direct Connection piece that I've had for decades. A nice feature is, you can add a decal to distinguish whatever engine it's on.
