AC condenser and heater core repair for 1974 roadrunner

Hello everyone,

I am working on putting AC back in my 1974 Roadrunner and took my heater core out this week. I took it apart completely to check for any holes or broken parts. The biggest issue i found was that the previous owner cut off the fittings on the condenser and now I cannot connect anything. (See attached photos)

My current idea is to cut the lines behind the plate and attach new fittings on using a repair kit. The heater core has the same issue but i can buy a new one online.

Does anyone know any ways i can repair this?

Have new ends brazed on by an AC shop?

...or find another evaporator.

Which method used is dependant on the tubing's alloy like 6061. VEE both halves being jojned as well as OD and ID and to insure a parallel connection a vblock is recommended and use the TIG weld process and Three choices for shielding gases are pure argon, pure helium, and mixtures of both (75%--25%). All three can be used for various applications. Argon is cheaper by volume than helium. TIG is easier to control the puddle when adding the 6061 filler metal (1/8" dia)......but it depends on one's skill level.......gas backing with shield gas the weldment at both ends will prevent or help to prevent "sugar" formation at the weld seam. Just my opinion of course.....

Replace the condenser. It will be less expensive in the long run. They are not that expensive. Your compressor on the other hand will probably be your Achilles heel.
