attached is a pic of the heater core copper lines. In dissembling my heater / AC box - i used a torch to heat up the joints to separate the show tubes from the actual heater core. This wa the only way I could figure out how to separate the the pieces. Anyway on the reassemble do you have to sweat the tubes back on to the replacement heater core? I do not see any other way to do it to keep it from leaking. I looked at my service manual and it does not explain the disassembly clearly and same the putting it back together. Any advice is greatly appreciated

You unscrew the 4 sheet metal screws holding it to the box. The brass tubes have o'rings on them, Once the four screws are out, you just pull the copper tubes out. They can be hung up from age, but that's all that holds them in. Heating them up destroyed the sealing rings. New ones come in the rebuild it. The H valve inside uses rubber hoses to connect the heater core to the H valve. What you are doing is then pressing the copper tubes into the H valve, sealed by ORings. But that's all internal, it will make sense once you open it up.

Ok i get it - but where would I get new o rings for this? I did not see any when I pulled it apart unless they are real wide o rings - makes sense. No way was it coming apart - i tugged and pried to get it apart - not moving so I did not want to tear it up thus the flame wrench

Here is a pic of the o rings. They are included in the re-build kit.
