I was wondering if i could get some advice. I want to add a right side mirror to my 71 charger .Has anyone done this before and if so how hard was it. Im worried about making a wrong cut.

I just measured the mirror edges on the driver side, then removed the driver's mirror and measured the holes (twice).
Kinda difficult due to curvy surfaces as reference points.
I used the door habdle (which sat differently by 1/8" each side), and the side molding for the vertical measurement.

Then I marked the pass side (in pencil) after measuring twice again.

Next I gently carressed the pass side door and appologised to the car.

Now my dual rallye mirrors look they are supposed to be there.

PM your email address to me. I have photos I can send you with measurements. Doing the same thing myself this week. Have a connection who was nice enough to email photos of his factory pass side mirror location.

take off the drivers side mirror and make a template out of paper by tracing and marking holes..THEN....flip the paper over and mark the passenger side.!

I would pm Wookie if he has a template from a factory installed mirror. The reason I say this is the body man that did my car brought up the right hand mirror (mine doesn't have that option) before we started. He said if I wanted to add one that he would need to research its location...that they were NOT in the same place as the drivers' side.

Mine was easy since I have a Roadrunner and put the dual mirror stripes on. The cutout showed me right where to put the mirror. :)
