When my youngest came home from school (she dropped out in her jr year) I gave her a break for about 30 days. About all she did was sleep during that time until I started waking her up before noon and making her do chores. It wasn't long before she found a job and moved out and has been out ever since.

I know I'm an old man and times have changed but I don't get why any adult would want to live in their parents home for any length of time. When I was a kid back in the 50s if some 30 or 40 year old lived in their parents home, people thought that there was something wrong with them. Today it just seems to be accepted as the normal thing to do. I can see staying with the folks for a little while if it's an emergency, but as a permanent deal no thanks. I know when I was a young, my friends and I couldn't wait to be out on our own. It's part of the reason I joined the Air Force.

When I was 18 I was outta there house. I couldn't wait to be on my own. I encouraged my kids to do the same and it worked! Now I sit in this big quiet house all alone, except for visits from the gfriend. LOVE IT!

Oh heck thought they were to supply us a place to live after retirement. Told the kids we would move in trash the place and move on to the next one. We have 5 so that should be about 1 rotation per year.
