Trying to find an easy way to tune the air/fuel as close as I can. I have an old sunpro air/fuel guage. I can get an oxygen sensor off of eBay for cheap but do not want to go through the whole thing of tapping the header to mount it. I just want to get the initial tune as close as possible. I just have glasspacks coming off of the headers right now so the exhaust line is not long. What do you guys think of protecting the wires on the oxygen sensor(aluminum foil...??) and feeding it up into the glasspack from the end so I can get a reading?

I would use a wide band air fuel meter. Not sure how accurate that will be. Just curious, why so against installing o2 bungs

Pulled some spark plugs today and they were fouled so just looking for an easy way to get it dialed in accurately. I have this gauge sitting on the shelf so it would be nice if I could put it to use. Drilling and welding in bungs is more than I want to get into to get a one or two time reading.

I borrowed a buddy's LM1 and those use an O2 sensor with a cast aluminum tail pipe probe. It works fine all the way out the back but would be better right at the collector. Just get a piece of 1/4" - 3/8" pipe with a TEE and stick the O2 sensor in the short run near the exhaust stream and clamp it to the pipe somehow.

That's a good idea. Thanks!! Going to get one of those universal O2 sensors off of eBay and I'll give it a shot.
