I am putting a 440 in my 69 RoadRunner which came with a 383. My question regards the air grabber air cleaner. Was there a different base for 383 vs 440?? Will I have clearance issues, or is it no problem?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes you need a 440 base because of the height, I do have the same problem bought a rare 440 base and when it arriwed it turn out to be a 383 base and its to high and theres not room for it.

Guess you learn something new everyday. I didn't know there was a difference.
I restored my 69 Coronet R/T air grabber but it did have the numbers 440 in her.
(You can see pix of the air grabber restore at my website.)

I've also got a 69 Coronet R/T convertible that I did but it didn't have the air grabber and want to convert. Did everything but didn't have the air grabber itself. Bought a re-pop from Eparts (Peter in Canada) and never put it on, at least yet. It was about $500 and my first impressions of it are/were CHEAP CHINA JUNK. After you deal with the real deal and see the re-pop it's crazy. But I guess it's that or buy a hood with one for $1500 or so.
