I have owned both, and currently own a Ford F-150 4X4 extended cab. Has the Triton V8, which thankfully had only one major issue, which was fixed and reprogrammed of the ECU as it now runs as if it were brand new, even though it is a 2010 model with 13700 miles on it. However, the comparisons to me are quite stark, with a notable difference between the two. Nevertheless, both are extremely popular, as many people own either. Enjoy the read...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

I just won't buy a newer Ford...

Made in Mexico or Ontario

I don't like the product any longer, either
I've had many Fords, mostly Pick-Ups 77 79 94 4x4s (tire eaters)
bought a 2022 Maverick Lariat AWD, all optioned out
$41k after all the discounts/dealing (It was $51k),
& dad hated it & he's a Ford guy (who I got it for) all he's had for the 50 years
drove the wheels off my 02'
2-3 months later, traded Maverick Lariat AWD back in on a

Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition/Rubicon, much better
4wd special Limited edition, luxed out in graphite leather, red stitching, leather everywhere
dash seat wheel doors, killer offroad packages, air lockers, elec. disconnect sway bars,
dana44's (4.19:1 gears) 17"/33.4" tires
killer stereo & nice Nav system, heads up, can lock in the phone to

&

I've had several Ford dually's my last was made in Dearborn Mi.
(before they shipped it all outsorced, now for $60k+)
$42k (was high at the time) 2002 7.3 PS 6 speed 1 tone/5th wheel hitch

I won't buy a newer GMC/Chevy either, none of the newer stuff, (chineseium)
just not what they used to be, I've had a crapload of
older Chevy's 3100 dating back to 76', 1500, 2500, 3500, mostly all 4wds
several 1 tone dually's also

I prefer the Dodge Power Wagon or Power Ram's,
Hemi or the Cummins Diesels, especially the 5.9 turbo 12 valve
(over any of the Ford's Power Strokes)
much nicer rigs, not so plasticky interiors either, of late, stepped their game up bigtime

I'm in agreement with Budnicks on the newer model Fords and their very shitty builds that they get an arm, a leg, and a mortgage for, in order to purchase one. They don't last!!! I admit I was very interested in the re-release of the Ranger Truck as I had a 1996...4 banger 5 speed that we nicknamed No Balls...but it was a beast, was great on gas, and was really a very comfortable truck. But the new models just do not cut it for me, so I will keep my 2010 F-150 as it is not my daily driver and I have it for when I need to tow a trailer, the grocery getter car, or heavy loads for home projects. cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

HO turbo 3.0 liter inline 6 and there it sits in all its $91,900 glory. The incentive didn't work.

They all have their issues. Lifelong Dodge driver. I don't know what I would buy next. Cram has had years to fix their exhaust manifold and lifter issues but choose not to. Ferd and Chebbie are no better either. The Cram is finished better, better electronics and more comfortable than the other stuff though.

I drive a used 2013 F150 Platinum. I've hauled an RV and several 1 ton loads of soil and gravel with it. It's got a V6.

I owned a new 2015 RAM 1500 for a year and traded it for an F150.

I prefer tge F150 to the RAM and GM trucks.

RAM warranty for 2026 looks enticing...10 year, 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty.

While I could fork over for a new truck, won’t do it. I’ve ridden in and drove a few of them. They have more gadgets I don’t want. I’ve owned only Dodge since my first truck, a ’97 1500 and two Dakotas with a ’91 2500 Dodge for 20-years for plowing and when I’ve needed a full-size box. It’s in rough shape, yeah rides like a brick, but like the manual, great for plowing. If I were younger, I’d restore it, but buying a UTV for plowing. My ’05 Dakota Laramie is well-optioned having AWD and about 80% of the time it suits my needs for hauling stuff. IMO, nicer driving around in a smaller truck. Partially restored it a few years ago with the idea being my last truck.

When pricing out used trucks a couple years ago, I found paying around $40-grand or so to obtain one with the options mine has seemed dumb. Why should I pay that for a truck having only 30 or 40k less miles than mine? If something expensive goes on mine, I’ll pay for it. Last spring I paid $1,100 to repair the AC. Only catch could be replacing it and what the insurance company would pay – it is a 20-year-old truck. I might explore a stated value for it, it might not be worth it or available, not sure.

My local dealer still has a couple new 2024s available with 5.7s. STILL too much money! I think they are still asking sticker, since the hemi's went away.
