awesome details ?

A buddy of mine (Tim) bought it in 1980. The guy he bought it from yanked the hemi and put it in an Anglia and sold the rest of the car to Tim for $300.00 including a 318 engine. Time drove it three years and then parked it. He claims he is going to restore it someday, but it will cost about $150,000.00 + (in my estimation) and he ain't got that kind of money. I offered Tim DOUBLE his money that he paid for the car but he said no. :)

thats awesome i hope he either gets around to restoring it or sells it to someone who will give it the restoration it deserves hate to see something like that just setting around when it could be enjoyed either way very cool car thanks for posting the pics.

Well if you only offered to double his money that's not much? that car in that shape is worth at least $15,000 (maybe more!) Just since it is a Hemi 500 car!

I believe he was being sarcastic.
Anyways thats an awesome car.

Pretty sad really, car will probably rot to the ground right there. I can't stand people that don't have the means to restore a car of that historic signifigance and insist on holding onto it in hopes of one day they might "get lucky" and restore it. He should have taken the $20,000.

Since it is sitting on a concrete floor in a ventilated storage barn (with tractors and not livestock) it shouldn't "rot" but I agree he should sell it to someone who has the means to restore it.

Benji welcome to the FBBO forum. The days of the $300-$350 Mopars is long gone. I do remember those days buying cars 5+ a year & turning them to support my racing habbit. Good luck.
