Any issues with upgrading to 11" rear drums on 3rd Gen Charger?

I'm in the midst of rebuilding the 8 3/4 on my '73 Charger. Currently she has power disc brakes up front, and 10.5" drums in the rear. A buddy of mine has a complete 11" rear drum setup off a mid-60's C body - which seems like a good idea considering the beefier engine that'll eventually be dropped in. Will there be any issues with throwing the 11-inchers on there?
 
Be careful. Check the width of the brake shoes. Some early c bodies had 11 x 2-inch shoes. Some of the 11 x 2-inch parts are hard to get. You would probably want the 11 x 2 1/2-inch stuff. Easier to get parts for. Make sure you match the wheel cylinder size with the current master cylinder piston size.
 
I have upgraded my last 2 cars, No problems at all. It can help to use 7/8" wheel cylinders if you increase the front disc size. As mentioned above find 11" x 2-1/2" ones.
 
I run 11x2.5 on all my crap mostly because I've had several sets just sitting there. Wagons had disc with 11x2.5 drums out back.
 
Why? Most of the breaking is done with the front brakes and the 11" drums are fairly heavy.
 
lucky for me I'm running a 9-1/4 ram charger limited slip rear end that has the 11x2-1/2 shoes in my 3rd gen
 
Installed a master on my 66 Belvedere from a 69 Valiant parts car because it was new and a double pot. The bore size of that master was smaller than what came off the 66. It decreased pedal effort but gained slightly more travel. Also had to use adapter fittings to make it fit. A few years later I swapped out the dinky 7 x/x" rear for an 8 3/4. Don't recall what size the wheel cylinders were but it did have bigger brakes.....made no difference in pedal feel and it didn't lock up unless I hammered them and then all 4 locked up.

What year RamCharger? Had an 86 that I really liked but the X didn't like. It didn't have a LSD in it but our 2000 Durango had the 9 1/4 with LSD but can't remember what it's called. It's different than the older clutch or cone type 8 3/4's. Had some trouble with it at around 25k miles. Did what the factory manual said to do but with about 30K miles on it, it started up with the chatter again. That time I fixed it my way and was good until she burned up the engine in late 2018. That thing still looked new in early 2017 when she left.

Believe it was an 89, don't have the truck, rear end is in my 71 Charger. Would love to have a ram charger or trail duster, saw a super nice one for sale for only 4k on marketplace
 
My a-body has KH disc on the front, I changed the rear from sbp 10" brakes to bbp and when I pulled the drums I discovered the wheel cylinders were locked up and had no brakes in the rear.

I drive this car all the time, never noticed it.

So I went with 11.5 brakes in the rear with the bbp axles.

Don't really notice any difference, and that's going from no rear brakes to 11.5.

And the finned drums are definitely heavier than plain Jane, not worth it, imo.
 
Well, sounds like the benefits of swapping the 10" for the 11" is minimal at best. Maybe I'll just leave well-enough alone. As always, I appreciate the input, boys.
