Anyone else like Dodge Intrepids?

We bought a new one in 02. My wife drove it for 8 years, and over 160K. Other that the usual upkeep....2 coils, a crank sensor, and a cam sensor.
If they built these today, I'd buy one in a minute....

Sexy body lines.

2 years ago, I bought a 99 LHS with 22K on it. It has 26, now. I love driving this thing.

The 20's took at least a decade off it's appearance.

I remember seeing a picture of about 10 Intrepids in front of an AAMCO transmission shop when the transmission issues started.

Speaking of Chrysler transmission issues both my 04 Dodge Dually 3500 and my Son's 99 Dodge Dakota both starting acting up a couple of weeks apart from each other.

His, it will shift fine for about 15 miles til it gets hot or if he does anything slightly over a standard take of, it will not shift, if it does upshift through the gears, then it won't downshift. It will take back off in high gear.

Mine trans hot temp light comes on and then it won't upshift at all.
I know his is probably the shift solenoids and mine is probably the governor solenoid. I just haven't had the motivation or time to order the parts yet.

I was just behind a white Intrepid earlier this week on my way home from work and thought man, I haven't seen one of those in years. It was in really nice shape as well.
My buddy has a Concorde that he converted to RWD with an 8-3/4 and a 440 with EFI. It still looks 100% factory other than when you look inside and see the custom made factory color carpet and trans and driveshaft tunnel.
Photos? How does a 440 for under the stock sloped hood?

I had a 99 ES with the 3.2. it was a nice car. Eventually I got an intake gasket leak or something and it started drinking coolant. Donated it to the church cars ministry and bought a 2012 charger se 3.6/tf8. That car did everything the intrepid did better .

The firewall was moved back several inches. I don't have any photos of the car on my current phone. I will try to remember to take some the next time I am over there.

He also has a custom painted not factory Panther Pink 2008 Charger R/T with a 440 as well.

Never owned one but they were in rental car fleets and always seem to have gotten one back then. I liked them.

had two...2002,,biggest POS ever. Second was a 2004 with the 2.7. Had it 11 years and 211,000 miles. Great car.

I really like the first gen intrepid. Nice "viper inspired" design.
If i was looking for a cheap daily driver than i would consider picking one up.
