Hi, I just bought a car near Benton Ky, does anyone know a relatively cheap shipping company that could ship the car to Washington DC? I'm kind of on a budget, and am not really looking to spend a lot.
The last company I hired to ship a car, never picked it up, and lost out on the last deal I had, after weeks of trying to get them to refund the money, then finding a new car. Now I just found a new car and have really been ripped off for the last time. Thanks, I'm just really in need of finding a reliable, relatively inexpensive shipping company that will actually pick up the car, and get it here safely.

I just sold a car hauler. Was in that business for three years. I suggest going to autoexpediters.com. It is a website run by a hauler that supports other haulers. Most everyone on there has been in the biz for awhile, has the proper license and insurance etc and there are a number of them in your area. I would avoid uship at all costs.

LOL, I used Uship and it saved me over $1000 dollars. Car arrived perfect and the carrier was from Iowa not that far from where I bought the car from. He was a small business family man looking to make money to support his family and I felt real good about paying him and he was excellent in service, equipment and communication.

I say go to Uship and see who you can find that might be local and needs the money. The car hauler experts
( brokers) wanted at least twice what I paid.

The website I directed you to is primarily haulers so I thought you could bypass the broker and save money. From your original post it sounds like you have already experienced the worst of the industry and were looking for professionals. Obviously there are some professionals that use Uship I just don't know any. Most of the stories I heard like yours while hauling cars came from people who had used Uship. Glad it worked out for you.

It's not a red 1971 road runner is it, I just sent one to benton ky! Lol. The last shipper I used sucked, so I can't recommend one. Lol

Normally, reliable and professional don't equate with cheap. I have used Intercitylines.com several times with great results. They're nationwide. Good luck.

Sorry it's actually a 1970. The car is in pretty crappy shape overall, but for my price range it's actually a pretty nice long term project. Yes I have had to deal with an awful experience with the last company I used and am looking to spend the least possible, while still getting the car here without it being wrecked or never being picked up. I really don't even need it to be enclosed

Most reputable companies will give you a choice of an open carrier or, for more money, an enclosed trailer. Since you already had a bad experience with a carrier you might call Intercity Lines and get a quote. Can't hurt...

Uship offers all the same services as well as insurance. I think you are crazy if you don't look at them. The shippers have reviews,. Professional?? I doubt most of you know the definition of being professional in business. All being professional in business means is that you have been doing the same thing for 7 years. It doesn't mean you are good at it or the best, its an overblown over used term to implicate something that isn't true.

You want the best deal for your money you go check them out. You set the terms and conditions... not the shipping company. I had to have my car transported from Iowa to Oregon and its was 2200 minimum form the so called pros. Cost me 1100 from Uship and the it was top notch service with phone calls everyday telling me where he was.

99ss: Gee, since you're the expert, I guess we should all PM you every time we need an explanation for a word over 5 letters? I, for one, am glad to know we have a member who is so much more well rounded than the rest of us. And yes, I already know that I'm a smart *ss, but evidently not as smart as you...

99ss the statement you made is a little insulting to a lot of people on this board. You know nothing about the people on this board. The statement you made seems a little arrogant and obtuse.
