Back in the '70's I used aluminum retainers on my 273 small block bracket racer ('65 Valiant) with an Isky solid 1012B/C camshaft 312 advertised duration and .580 lift with the recommended dual springs with damper. Never had a problem with aluminum retainers. Just curious if they have completed been swept from the face of the earth?

I think I may have some new ones around here somewhere, but i do remember my machinist telling me to throw them away.
