I just went to make an online purchase of DVD and the merchant uses "Stripe" which I never heard of and which I don't have. Just wondering how legit it may be?

Never heard of them either. Everyone has to start somewhere, but unless they take PayPal or a credit card, they are out for me. Looking at the website @Ironbuilt posted, it looks like they are trying to do way more than just process transactions. I would do more investigating before jumping in.

I was paying online with what was called X.com before it was renamed PayPal.I guess they gotta start somewhere but I would for sure check them out really good before moving forward.

The site selling the DVD's also has a note at the beginning of the address line "not secure".

Seriously Dude!!! You still want to engage with that purchase??? As stated above...Run Away...Run Away!!! Pay Pal despite the problems some have experienced is still far safer way to go. They are now owned and handled by Synchrony Bank so backing of a financial institution is a much better thing. Money changers/Handlers??? Shady at best...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Don't worry, like the old cash registers used to say:
