Are you a 0-60 guy or a top speed guy?

Everyone should have a dragstrip in their backyard. Great place to try your stuff out and have fun.

Been smoking tires. for over 50 years now... True high speed runs don't happen much anymore... In my twenties I would hit 100+ MPH just about daily, fastest in a muscle car was 145ish... Haven't hit 100 in close to twenty years now... But cruise with traffic at 85 pretty regularly... And last time I smoked'em was three weeks ago...

Always cared most about 0 to 60 for boring reasons, I’ve gone into the 100s a couple of times. 80 on the freeway is cruising speed around here.

Depends on the car, and the situation.
Do I care about either in my old Ramcharger? Not really, but I do like that it surprises people from a stop light. My 8.1 Chevy? Same, but I will take it up to a higher speed on the freeway because the crew cab is a tad more stable over the 80 mark. 8.1 burnouts are infrequent because the rubber costs too damn much but also entertaining.
My 2013 AWD? I don't actually care about 0-60 because where I live, not much anywhere to do it. However, when the opportunity or need arises the AWD means there is no burnouts even with a sudden pedal to the floor. It pulls very hard from 0-115. Then the nanny takes over. In BFE WI, on county trunk roads there are plenty of safe places to push the car, but there is no need and I get little thrill over "top speed". Especially when it is simply the nanny computer metering that speed, and most likely the satelite radio antenna narcing on me to my insurance company. From what I can tell, shorter bursts of pedal to the floor OK, extended periods not OK, based on the results of my premium lol. Not sure what the threshold is but I imagine more than 15 seconds must qualify.
I had a 94 5.0 Mustang. It was stout enough 0-60, did burnouts, and was a proper highway cruiser up to about 80mph with the gears I put in. Very entertaining on the windy backroads. Sold it to my son.
So it depends on the ride. I like acceleration, but not some specific benchmark. Rowing a 5 speed is good fun without any consideration to both.

Burnouts are righteous, and correct, as I have written in other threads. In fact, their is a social obligation to instruct today's youth on how and why burnouts are righteous through proper demonstration and if you have the means you should fulfill this obligation.

I'm a dirt track, sliding sideways and doing the bump and run kinda guy.

Straight lines are boring after 10 seconds or so.

I like the rush that comes from hard acceleration. In my younger days I regularly cruised well above the posted speed limit which resulted in numerous police interactions and court appearances. The financial penalties and license revocation caused me to rethink my approach to driving. Nowadays I still cruise 10 over the posted limit on the interstate but there’s plenty of cars passing me so I don’t feel like a target, if that makes sense…

With 631.5 horsepower and 514.8 foot pounds of torque @ 6800 RPM I would say my top end is UNLIMITED!

I don't mind going "fast".

I've been 120 in my 351c torino, and passed an 87 gta trans am at 150 in my 70 383 Super Bee.
...and about 115 on a suzuki gs 650.

...but honestly I'm more of a 0-60 guy.

If I'm in a safe place (mostly out in the country) and I mash the go pedal, it's 75-80mph when it shifts to third gear anyway so might go a bit farther if there's room.

In town or rural areas I'll behave myself. It was fun making a few passes at South Mountain back in July.

I took my 1967 Coronet R/T station wagon up to 130 mph. (indicated on 150 mph. speedo), one night to see what it would do. I think I shook for about an hour, afterward. 440, 4-speed, and 3.55 gears.

There are spots in the california desert on I-40 where the highway is dead straight for 5-10 miles, and at the top of the hill, you can see that whole distance. (In daylight). If I was to try something stupid again, I think I'd stand on it at about 3:30 am, if I can see there's no traffic.
Otherwise....... nope.

Our traffic laws, here in Ontario, are very onerous, with stiff penalties. Doing burnouts and squealing tires are called "stunt driving" up here, and the police take a very dim view of it. If caught, you immediately lose your driver's licence for 1 month, and your car is towed to an impound lot for a 14 day stay. From there, your case heads to court. A conviction for "stunt driving", carries a minimum $2000.00 fine or up to $10,000, 6 demerits points, and a loss of licence for 1 year. More costs include towing and impound lot charges, plus lawyer fees. Additionally, your car insurance will increase substantially, with a conviction. After that, the offender must attend a court-mandated course before getting a licence returned. So, a simple burn-out could cost upwards of $10,000: hardly worth it.
