I can't find the tank thread, so I'll start this here.
It seems current tank engagement doctrine in the field is to fire the tank's gun if possible, from behind an/obstacle, embankment, etc and then promptly move/reverse to prevent return targeted artillery fire etc. It seems that technology exists to track incoming fire accurately and fast enough to take out the offensive equipment by tracking the rounds of an indirect firing position, and hence the need to quickly move/relocate.

This makes me wonder, with newer much longer range ammunition being developed, like ramjet 155mm sabot rounds able to accurately reach out over 100KM, and with I assume an in the air Flightime exceeding over a minute, would it not be possible for the targeted equipment to use the same tracking technology to predict the target and then relocate before the shell arrives, making the new current long range artillery somewhat ineffective?

Yes.

Just a snippet-

Here is "state of the art" as of a few weeks ago, remote, long range strike capability-

Not sure what the defense is.

There are anti-drone drones now.

Might be anti-anti-drone-drones in a short while.

Missiles and guided glide bombs are kind of fading into history as we speak.

All because one nation gave up most of it's weaponry and then was attacked.

They had to improvise and use what was available while being cost conscious.

Armor, king of battle. With drones not so much anymore.. Thinest armor on a tank is the top of the turret. Reactive armor works but its a hazard to dismounted infantry.

Ramjet tech is nothing new. They were playing around with RAP (Rocket Assisted Arty Rounds) around just before Desert Storm. Another was an air deliverable mine called Gator. Works on the same principle as the Bouncing Betty. Has a command self destruct feature for clearing the minefield
