I need your help. I am building a 1969 road runner that will see Street and dragstrip use. I would like to know any thoughts on aftermarket brake systems or kits, or should I just go with factory type brake systems. At a minimum I would like to be Disc drum. I will also be installing a line lock in the system

Dr. Diff has nice front disc conversion kits. Used one on my 69 GTX.

You would want to avoid the OEM 69 and earlier Bendix set up. Rotor and calipers are harder to come by and more expensive.

If you switched to the OEM B and E Body 70-72 setup you could source that pretty easily and inexpensively. You just need to get the spindles and adapter first. But they are small bearing set up.

So folks like to go with 73 up set up with larger bearing spindles, larger disc. I personally am satisfied with the 70-72 setup.

I can't really speak to the after market, I think you just have too look hard at the reviews. Some where too generic and did not work well. Others very good. Dr Diff seems to get good reviews.

The Disco Tech article is a good one to inform you of all the OEM differences if you go that route.

If you want to install manual discs using your stock drum spindles up front, this is the one to get:

11.25" rotors, works with stock rims.
Wilwood also makes one that fits stock drum spindles, but I didn't choose it because their hubs
interfere with my Magnum 500 rims.

We offer a couple of different options on disc brake conversions, besides our own we offer both Wilwood and Leed Brakes kits. I have attached a link below to what we offer. Please let me know if you have any questions as I can walk you through the various kit. Also as a member of the forum you are eligible for members discount (orders over $200 get 10% off) and free shipping within the US 48 states.
