How do you remove the back seat (not the bottom), but the back of the back seat from a 69 charger? I see the tabs at the bottom (like hooks), but.... pushing and pulling is not working. What trick am I missing?

There should be a "loop" on the seat back that slips over the tab on the body, Some tabs ore bent over, bend them straight and pull the loop off of the tab and lift up on the back, the top is secured in hooks. ,,,,Ed

I have a 68 Satellite. I’m putting sound deadener and new wiring. After getting the bottom seat out.... pull out on the lower part of the back rear to release it, then lift up towards the roof to get it off the two upper hanger hooks. See pic. Zoom in on the 2 upper hooks and you’ll understand better. The hooks are on the back, way up near the speaker holes of the package tray. I’m just guessing it’s the same for your charger. Tip: take at least one of the back seat arm rests off to make it easier or it’ll get hung up on it.

Here is a pic of my 69 Super Bee hooks. It’s been a long time since I pulled them out but I think the bottom has to come out first. I think. I know it’s a pain in the ***. At least for me it was.

Don't know if there's a diff but with my '63 you can't remove the seat 'back' without removing the bottom or at least getting it out of the way. Once the bottom is out, there are two brackets form the seat frame toward each end of the seat back that are screwed in, remove the screws then pull it up as there are tabs on the top to secure it there.

I removed and installed my back seat (71 Charger) two months ago. It was a pain and I cursed at the car multiple times during the process. For some reason, over two years ago, for me, it was much easier to remove the back seat from a 72 Challenger.

For the bottom, I use a soft foam pad and my foot while my back is against the front seat back.

Gonna have to give both methods a try. Ashamed to say I bought seat belts for the backseat and gave up on it because I tried to get that stupid seat bottom out for hours and never lifted it...
