Installing the back seat in my '71 Roadrunner.New divider and insulation and trying to get it in the car properly. The car came with rear seats basically tossed in. My question is what are the galvinized clips on each side just below and outboard the seat hangers for? They seem to have provisions for sheet metal screws, but mine are bare. There are rods on each side of the seat back that look to be close to them.
Thanks for any help. POPS

Got a pic of what your describing?
Sounds like your talking about the "tong" on each side twords the bottom of the car where the seat has sorta a "U" molded in the steal framing that kinda snaps in there...there is no hole drilled in that tong on mine. I just pulled my seat 2 days ago.
I see if i can snap a quick pic.

The clips I am asking about are straight up from those.Held on with a small screw.I will try to post a picture. POPS

Never saw that before. But there is a hole that is not used on the plastic arm rest supports (don't know what you call that large plastic piece on each side of the rear seat that takes up the space). It looks like some previous owner made brackets to accommodate that unused hole and secured the part with an extra screw over and above what the factory used originally. I was always trying to find a hole to pass the screw through on mine, only to find it was an "orphan" hole without a home.
P.S. Or maybe in your case the factory made provisions for the hole, my '72 Satellite Sebring Plus does not have that little bracket, though. Anyway, that's my best guess at the moment.

If you look at lower plastic quarter panels on upper area ( called "rear door lower panel" by some sellers/manufacturers ) will find the provision to be attached there as mentioned by Dibbons. I have searching for those brackets since ever and it seems nobody have them on its car, and usually a guy parting out a car never takes care of remove the rear seat just to get me those brackets.

Speaking of these panels mentioned above and I quote:
"If you look at lower plastic quarter panels on upper area (called "rear door lower panel" by some sellers/manufacturers)."

I was putting these pleces on yesterday and besides a few screws I found two metal slots on the front of the panels that require some kind of push on clips. Does anyone have a foto of what these clips look like? Thank you.
