A would-be bank robber was thwarted when the teller at a downtown bank refused to hand over cash after receiving a demand note, police said.

He walked into the branch and handed over a note demanding money.

“The clerk took the note, looked at the suspect and said ‘no’,” Buttle said. “The suspect turned and walked out the door without obtaining anything.”

Wow
Took balls to do that
Usually the Bank does not want the individual to fight/non-obey

I hate to say it - but I don’t have those kind of balls. At least not if they had a gun. I would hand over every dime of,the banks money before taking a risk with my life to save it. If the robber didn’t have a gun I would club him over, the head with a sack of quarters.......

The teller will probably be fired.
Thats a good possibility. I knew this gal who worked at a bank and she was reprimanded for laughing at a would be robber with a remote control. Said he had a bomb and would set it off if she didn't hand over the cash. She grabbed it out of his hand and said "that's a tv remote you dumb ***!"

Well if he was a electronics wiz, it might have been rigged up to a bomb, but it did end up being a fake.

She was a country girl and reacted without thinking most of the time. On one occasion a pipe bomb was used to get money. They evacuated the bank after the robber left and the cops accidentally set if off, in the bank! Lol

She had a lot of would be robbers drop cd cases in the drive-thru drawer and ask for money, stating it was a bomb. Pushed the drawer back out and called the cops. (No she didn't have balls or a lot of common sense)

Good for the teller. Shame on anybody who messes with her.

Good for her...

Used to manage a large McDonalds during a break from the Army. One night at 11;30 this cat comes banging into the store brandishing a K-Bar knife. Tells me to empty all of the registers and the safe or he'll carve me up. I herded all of the kids behind me to the back of the kitchen and told him to just be cool and I would open all of the registers and he could help himself. He did and then wanted the safe. I told him two things. One- I could not open the safe, only the owner could. Two- if he tried to use that knife I would make him eat it, literally. He thought about it for about 2 seconds and turned and ran. The cops caught him 2 blocks away, walking down the sidewalk, big as you please. Still had the knife too. Idiot. The owner was retired military and he made a small speech to the employees about cooperating with a robber 100%. In private he told me he wished he could have seen the ******** face when I told him that. I got big street creds with the kids though...everyone behaved themselves at work from then on. lol. And we got all of the money back too.
