An Oil Field worker contacts me to media blast his 70 AAR 'Cuda. Few months later he gets layed-off. Few months after that he calls me wanting to see if I'm interested in a 'deal'. He has me blast his car, build him a Rotisserie, and do some of the metal work on the car (to be determined after blasting), and epoxy prime it all. What he is willing to part with is a 1970 Challenger in B5 blue from the factory. It's a 318 car, auto on the column, needs a total restoration, but, the car is all there! And, he said he'd toss in a 440 too! We agreed to the preliminary deal, he's bringing his car to me today. To pick up his car after I've done my work, he brings the Challenger with the Title, then he gets his AAR back! Win Win for everyone! As I said, sometimes bartering IS better than cash!

Sounds good. You do have the terms of the agreement in writing, signed ?

I've done some bartering over the years but so far, it's never entailed a complete car....

I got screwed quite a few years ago by a customer, a relatively small trade off. So, something of this magnitude, I'd get a signed agreement.

Sweet hope that chally is in good enough shape to make it worth it, good luck!

That sounds great Donny!
Yup, sometimes "Bartering" is a better way to go!

Hell, the "Old Time" Country doctors used to get paid with Horses, Sheep and Chickens...

Great deal Donny!

Actually, the person is a member here! James Bearden! I asked him today how he found me, he said fbbo! So, that's pretty cool! He's down by Corpus. Yes, signed agreement, both of us have expectations, and I have no reason to think things will go sour, I'll do my end, he's already done his end -- brought me the Title!

If both parties are happy then I say well done.

Way to go Donny. I have been bartering for years. Easy to do when you own the business.
My best deal was about $4500 worth of change orders on a remodel project for a pristine 68 Camaro rs bone stock with only 64k on the odo. I sold it 3 weeks after the trade for $16,700.00!!!!!!!

Sounds like an awesome deal, but.....

OK, here is the aforementioned Camaro
