I am taken out the original 361 BB from my 65 coronet wagon to make room for a 383. My question is can I use the 402 stamped oil pan that is on the 383 at this time or do I need to take the oil pan off of the 361 i am taken out and use it? Many thanks!
Matt

I don't know for sure but if the sump is in the same position, I don't know why it wouldn't. But if in doubt swap the pan and pickup over.

pan

Use the pan off the 361 because you will have clearance issue.
The engine sits farther ahead approx 1 3/4 in on 62-65 cars than
the 66 and up cars. The 361 pan is thinner at the front part of the sump
than the 402 pan.If you use the later k frame you can use the 402 pan.

I appreciate it guys, as I was not for sure. I will just use the one that is one the 361 that I removed. Thanks again as its easier to ask then to have to pull that pan off again. Matt
