I was on the foot brake and into the throttle just a little before letting off the brake then smoothly stuffing into the go pedal. It would always let loose about 3/4 throttle and if I didn't back off it would just spin and spin until the car would eventually catch up to the speed of the wheels.... Of course things are still going by pretty fast if I stayed on the throttle, but in this case I just eased back out of it then shifted into second...

Nice, the roar of an engine, thats nice to hear anytime!

sounds like fun

:iamwithstupid: Calvert/CalTracs will help for sure... You do need some weight transfer, to get her to hook, get it to squat in the back & lift the front, CalTracs will help for sure, good adjustable drag shocks, battery in the trunk & the Mono spring & a set of {Correction} reiforced "front" hangers/perches & Rear leaf spring sliders {see drawing}from Mancini Racing, will also help, especially if you don't get the Mono leafs & use the stock leafs, but work very well with the Mono leafs too... you need to get it up on the converter, launch at a higher, to get that usable power, just rolling into it, the suspension isn't working for you, just spinning & to ET well, the 1st 330-ft is almost everything when trying to improve your ET's.... Good luck & have fun Happy New Year

I have my Caltracs on now..... installed everything late fall but have had limited time testing. 90-10 shocks up front is in the works first thing this summer, bad part is I just installed new KYB Gas Adjust shocks when I put the car together..... I had just a couple trips to the park and back, and down to the gas station to put fresh fuel and stabil in it before winter hit.
I have never heard anyone using the sliders on the front spring segment mount???? How does the rear stay put with sliders in the front?
I used AFCO sliders starting back 15 years or so ago on the late-model dirt track rear suspension,,, and they REALLY freed up the rear end!
I only made one 1/4 mile attempt with the car before caltracs and was happy to see a mid ten second run, but I also broke my trans on that trip! That won't happen again with the JW Ultra bell though.....

Yup, for caltracs to work properly you need at least 5" inch raise in the front. They are awesome once dialed in. If you find your blowing the tires off, go to the lowest hole setting, and then adjust from there.

Caltrac's work good. i run sliders, in the REAR where they belong. i don't really think those are necessary but i did it while i was at it. like stated, lots of front end travel is key, cut down the upper control arm snubbers, and some good loose shocks. i ended up going to adjustable strut rods and uppers with heims to aid in the weight transfer. my dart is pretty nose heavy though. my car hooks pretty good from a roll on the street, but it'll still spin from a dead dig. not a issue on a prepped racing surface. they take a little time to get dialed but its worth the effort. Make sure you re-enforce the spring perches or put the calverts on, i found out the hard way when mine bent.

DOOOOH my bad, I should have proof read my post, I was referring to reinforcement plates on the front spring hangers & roller/sliders on the rear like in the pitcher I posted earlier, I should have proof read my post, some how, I deleted part of it, ooops... I've corrected it now, MRE roller sliders they go on the rear, sorry for any confussions... The pitcher should have made it clear...
