Biffle plane crash

I hope he wasn’t on the plane.
They’re falling out of the sky all over now it seems.
I’m a pilot, instructor and member of a flying club at the DuPage Airport west of Chicago. Yesterday a twin engine plane crashed there on takeoff and 2 killed.
The deceased identities haven’t been released yet. But it’s been reported they were members of another DuPage Airport flying club whose planes are hangered a row over from my clubs. The twin wasn’t a club plane though. At least one member of my club is in that club too. Though I’m sure he wasn’t in that plane. He surely knew them and maybe I did too.
Hits close to home!
Small plane crashes after taking off at DuPage Airport in West Chicago; 2 dead: officials
I subscribe to a somewhat abrasive pilot’s YouTube channel Probable Cause who focuses on general aviation accidents and safety. Dan Gryder steps on a lot of toes, but his heart is in the right place trying to improve safety and I learn from his content.
His show last Sunday he talked of his 2025 goal of reducing fatal crashes this year over last, and it was down to the wire, if we only had a few more before January 1 we’d achieve that reduction.
It’s not looking good now for that!

That’s tough to see , especially after fueling and moving probably thousands of Citations in my career . Pretty sure Greg Biffle was a private pilot also , however I don’t know what ratings he had . So many nascar drivers are pilots or own aircraft or both

He drove for Jack Roush

What a beautiful family

God Bless RIP

Retired from nascar and used his money for good. So many people most likely lived after Halene because he risked his helicopter running supplies. There’s a special place in heaven for him, and there’s a special racetrack , I hope him and Dale are dueling it out

Biff was born in my hometown of Vancouver and grew up in the town of Camas next door. He was pretty notorious around here, but he went through the school system several years after me. Great driver and it was fun to root for a hometown boy.

RIP Greg & Family
