What is this "cam plug" called at the back of the block behind the cam? It looks like a freeze plug? Also, where do I buy this part?
THANKS!

here is a couple of part no. PC84 2 9/64in. or dorman 555-070 the dorman is a little shorter but still a cup type.

Just remember you don’t have much leeway (just deep enuf) either way. Take a good look where outer edge of plug stops just when it hits edge of block chamfer.

?? Not sure what you mean by this. The depth of the cam is determined by the top timing gear. Install the plug flush with the block and yer done.

You cud be right, maybe I’m thinking of the chamfer for side freeze plugs.

I put them in up to the chamfer. They are not necessarily pressurized, so flat can work. I would just want it installed fully as they are tapered, thus get full installed pressure when none of it sticks out past the hole.
