Boomers And Old Car Psychology

Otherwise, a decent video...

So why didn't everyone from the era get 'the same bug' ?
his generalizations seem good, but it's more BS made up phycology
some of US (like me) mostly 'had that life', many of US did not,
like the inner-shittys/Urban dwellers, bus riders/using mass transit
never had owned a car/truck or garage/carport to park one in...
Or own any 'real property' (& taxes ***. with it) home of their own, renters

The narrative fits with my unique experience, how I got fixated on the GTX I chased for five decades. I was lucky my wife understood the process.

I got the bug at a young age, way before I could drive. My Dad old 30s coupes with V8s , couple old Harley bikes ect.
I grew up in it. My 1st car i bought was a 65 SS impala 4 speed car.
After it the list went on and on lol.
Drag bike in the 80s , track car followed,
Mopars were always my favorite.

Like most of you I'm in until they toss dirt on me.

It's called freedom. Freedom to go where you want, freedom to work hard and spend your money on what you want. My parents grew up in the depression and lived through WWII, They appreciated their freedom and loved living in a house they earned and driving a new car they earned. They never bitched about tough times but sure enjoyed the good times they earned for themselves. Their boomer children live the same way. Later generations let others dictate how they live too much I think.

No matter your age or how you grew up, if you like a thing, you want to keep it, cars, shoes, art, etc.

Won't be long, and nobody will like, own, or have an opinion on anything. Meat puppets.

^ when my youngest was about 4yrs. old , He came to me and asked why his car was rocking when he stopped on a certain street in Grand theft auto, not knowing what he was talking about I said show me, well I had a good laugh when he did and thought, should i tell him his mom was in the back seat! NOPE!

Cars were our freedom and expressed our personalities! It's not complicated nor does it require psychological investigation.

You are obviously NOT the guy who asked "why are you still holding on to it" about one of the guitars I posted in the "don't do this to your kids' thread.

The way the population is getting around here, the less I want to drive in it. Just way too many crazies with the younger generation...

Was talking to a lady at work today who told me her 19 year old does not even have a driver license and has no interest in getting one. Takes uber and Lyft.
