Bought a pair of FFI tubular UCA's - and they're marked "-1/8."

Just got these Firm Feel UCA's today, and found these "-1/8" markings on the gusset. These things have never been used or re-powdercoated. Got off the phone with Dennis not long ago, and even he wasn't familiar with the markings.

I know these give about 4 degrees extra caster by default - but if I compare them against a stock B-body UCA, the relocated ball joint sits quite a bit farther off from stock than 1/8" in any direction, so I suspect the marking doesn't relate to that.

Any chance this "-1/8" mark might ring a bell with a suspension guru here?

I have the same ones and mine don't say that on them. Possibly saying the thickness of the gusset there prior to when they welded it in place? IDK

Interesting theory. The gusset is, indeed, 1/8" thick. Doesn't explain the negative 1/8", but I'll go with that for now.

Almost forgot to post this reply I got from Dennis - might be of interest to the world here, in the event that more than one of these sets exist. From the way it sounds though, these may be the only ones in existence at the moment:

I talked with Dick today and we seem to remember building a set that had 1/8" shorter arms (perhaps for a road racer for more negative camber?) So, if anything, you'll have a little more tire lean in at the top (negative camber), but I still think you will be able to set the caster at positive 3 to 4 degrees, and then set the camber where you want it (I personally like a little bit of negative camber to help during hard cornering). Let me know how it goes.
